What is special about this release?
The target of TimeLog's next generation mileage registration is to optimise the flow for each single user through smart functionality. This limits the need for you to manually enter address data, and lets you report travel time together with mileage in one simple operation.
Our Mobile team now presents the Beta version of our solution to include maps and travel time registrations when registering mileage through our Mobile app.
The target of TimeLog's next generation mileage registration is to optimise reporting of mileage for every user through smart functionality that limits the need to manually enter address data. At the same time, the user can track travel time together with the mileage in one operation.
By finding the route to drive inside the TimeLog app and starting the travel time timer, the user can both add most of the information for mileage tracking, track the travel time and start the navigation when going to a customer meeting or in other ways need to report mileage.
The fundamental idea is that it is just as easy to start your navigation from TimeLog (or easier due to smart address function) as from the map application when you set off to drive. By doing so TimeLog collects data that makes it fast to track both the mileage and travel time.
How do I get started?
You need to enable it in the preview feature section of TimeLog. You can read more about preview features in our Help Center here.
You also need to check Travel time in the System administration -> Project module settings:
That enables you to mark a task as travel time task in the project plan, and it will automatically show in your mileage registration process. It's a good idea to also create an hourly rate dedicated to travel time as well as a contract to isolate the time and budget.

Extension of filtering in Time registrations (new) report
We extend the filtering options to include Partner and Customer owner. Partner limits result based on the partner field on the project, and customer owner limits results to registrations related to either the primary or secondary owner on the customer.
We also add the two as view options, so you can see them as new columns in the results of your search.
The new options allow you to see the time registrations from new angles, and you can better get the overview you're looking for. Especially if you use the pivot export to see and work with data in Excel.
The full export is extended with additional information too:
- Project department: The department that owns the project
- Registration department: The department of the employee adding the time registration
- Project type: If enabled in the setup in the system administration
- Project category: If enabled in the setup in the system administration
- Customer owner: The employee added as owner on the employee card
- Customer status: The one selected on the employee card
