Design 7: New front page

We continue our journey to move all pages in TimeLog to a modern design with focus on usability and creating value to each single user in TimeLog.

User experience is very important to us in TimeLog and therefore we present a new front page that offers instant value for every user of the system.

The new front page is a dashboard that shows key figures from the system, our newsfeed and the milestone overview, if it's enabled on your TimeLog site.

This means that your users may not see the same content, as it is based on their roles and rights within TimeLog.

We will update the front page based on user feedback to ensure we develop exactly what you need. We already plan to include graphs to provide every user with a better visual representation of the development in the key figures.

Test it out and use the feedback form on the front page to provide your input.

Performance: Optimisation of web app start up

A few weeks ago, we made optimisations to reduce the time it takes to start up our web application, and we are very happy with the results that we see.

 

In the past, app start time ranged between 35 to 80 seconds for the first user to use TimeLog every day. This means that the first person who logged into your TimeLog would wait this long for the web application to warm up.

 

After our optimisation, we see an average start up time of 3.3 seconds. This is a reduction from a potentially 80 seconds to a max of 7 seconds today.

 

We don't stop here. We set up a dedicated platform team with the responsibility to monitor and improve performance across our system on an ongoing basis with a data driven approach.

Fortnox integration: New authentication method for new installations

Fortnox has changed their way of integrating to other systems, and as a result we adjust the authentication method we use when you link TimeLog to Fortnox.

New customers who add the Fortnox integration or existing customers who do a reset of the Fortnox integration must log in to Fortnox from TimeLog to establish the connection successfully.

For existing customers who make no changes, the integration works as it is today, and you don't need to take any action.
