Major updates in the system
New mileage registration
Expected release: Primo November 2019
The target of the development is to create mileage registration that works across platforms (web,
mobile etc.) with high usability and the flexibility to support collecting the required information for
lawful reporting of mileage in the countries where TimeLog is used.
The implementation will support the existing integrations to salary systems, and also prepare for
integrating mileage registrations to the finance systems.
We have gathered all relevant information for you in this document, where we describe:
- Why we make the changes
- Which changes we make
- What you will need to do after the release
TimeLog for Desktop version 1.0
We are moving away from the beta test and completing version 1.0 now. As part of our cross-platform tracking concept, we re-name the tracker to TimeLog for Desktop. We now work on the last feature enabling you to use TimeLog for Desktop without the stopwatch functionality. This means that TimeLog for Desktop can be used for simple time registration, and in this way you do not need to log in to the web application to track time.
We are proud of the final result of our development work and the improvements it this brings to all our users.
TimeLog for Desktop allows you to track absence and project time on the fly and easily change tasks during the day. This helps you improve the accuracy in your time tracking enabling you to invoice more hours. TimeLog for Desktop is synchronised with your TimeLog Mobile app and the web application, and you can start and stop registrations across platforms.
If you already use our Mobile app, you are well-equipped to start using TimeLog for Desktop, as it includes almost the same functionality and the same design features.
In short: TimeLog for Desktop supports all needs for easy time and absence registration. You can use the tracker no matter which settings are done by the system administrator. Only the timer function is controlled by your administrators.
You can download TimeLog for Desktop from this menu:
Update of project settings page in the system administration
We update the project settings page to our new design and technology. For you, this means a faster page and changes you make are saved automatically.
No new features at the moment.
Adjustment of work in progress
Salary export with no employee salary data
We will support different use scenarios in the future.
Single Sign On (SSO) for Microsoft Azure AD and ADFS is under development
The solution will allow users to use their company login in TimeLog as well why maintenance of separate password in TimeLog will no longer be necessary.
With SSO, passwords are never parsed to or stored in TimeLog, but only in your company’s access management system. Additionally, it should be possible to block access to TimeLog centrally from the your access management system.
Please note: This is not a full integration, so you will still need to create/disable users in TimeLog manually, and the license handling is done manually in TimeLog.
The first release will focus on support for Microsoft Azure AD and ADFS.
SSO will be available for TimeLog customers with an Advanced plan or Basic Plus with Departments and international employees enabled.
Expected release in September / October.
Björn Lundén integration
With our standard integration, you can use the both systems to what they are designed to. This provides optimal working conditions for both the financial and the project departments, which both get the best systems for their daily work without having to compromise on the functionality.
Customer data, contacts and invoices are managed in TimeLog, and then all information is available in Björn Lundén. At the click of a button, TimeLog invoices are transferred to Björn Lundén as invoice drafts for further processing.
Improvements to our Fortnox integration
We are working on a number of improvements to our Fortnox integration. We list them in random order here:
- Transfer TimeLog project numbers to Fortnox
- Import expenses entered in Fortnox to TimeLog to get the full cost overview on projects
- Export expenses entered in TimeLog and import into Fortnox
e-conomic: Option to ignore customers in link customers interface
We are working on a new filter option, so you can ignore the customers from e-conomic, which you do not want to be part of your customer database in TimeLog. There will be a new action in the selection drop-down, and you can search out all ignored customers, if you need them in TimeLog at a later stage.
In this way, you will be able to load 200 new customers at a time and set them up correctly.
